Ten Thousand Lakes Foundation was founded in 2015 with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide urban and immigrant youth in Minnesota with the resources, mentorship, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Our Story

Named after Minnesota's famous nickname, "Land of 10,000 Lakes," our foundation reflects the abundance of opportunity we believe every young person deserves. We started in a small community center in Minneapolis, serving just 50 students. Today, we've grown to serve over 2,500 youth annually across the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Our programs have expanded from after-school tutoring to comprehensive sports leagues, cutting-edge STEM labs, and holistic mentorship programs that address the whole child. Our success is built on the dedication of our volunteers, the generosity of our donors, and most importantly, the resilience and potential of the young people we serve.
